Rob and Margaret Hess became the “caretakers” of the historic McBrayer building on the corner of 7th and Morton in Downtown Okmulgee’s Historic District in 2014.  The “Mac” is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been brought back to modern day use following the guidelines set forth by the Secretary of the Interior’s Guidelines for Historic Preservation.  By converting 7000+ square feet of unused office space on the upper floor into 8 loft apartments, The Hesses are giving new life to both the building and the community of Okmulgee, Oklahoma.  The McBrayer Lofts are the crowing addition to the residential properties that they have been leasing for over 20 years in Okmulgee.
